Introducing our 300hr Yoga Advanced Teacher Training Program

Now is the time to lead the way towards greater awareness, greater knowledge and greater wellness. We welcome you to join us in the 300 hr Yoga Training program as a springboard from your 200 hr level, whether completed with us at the Yogashala wellness centre or elsewhere. As an instructor or wellness/healthcare professional, you have seen and experienced the beneficial impact of yoga and now more than ever, we need to continue to offer an informed and insightful pathway for people to move through their lives with greater wellness in mind, body and spirit. At The Yogashala Wellness Centre, we bring global and current knowledge from an experienced faculty that will inform and support your learnings professional and personally.

About the course

Our 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program offers a flexible schedule, and the ability to specialize in your personal areas of interest. Guided by a team of wellness professionals this program seamlessly integrates North American scientific principles with traditional yoga practices. You will develop a thorough understanding of advanced asanas, anatomy, and teaching methods, enhancing your capability to lead others. Join us to deepen your practice, broaden your teaching skills in a nurturing environment and help to continue to bring a trusted integrity to the practice of yoga and its potential.

This program offers a variety of options in how you receive each course and how you would like to schedule and structure the time frame for how to move through the program. Listed with each course description is the delivery mode: in-person, live zoom or pre-recorded. Courses can be chosen based on your availability and electives on your area of interest. Core curriculum course are mandatory, but can be done in any order and only one is a prerequisite to Electives ( see below). 
 

Curriculum- total hours of in class learning is 270hrs + 30 hrs of practicum. These hours are comprised of in-  person, live on Zoom and Pre-recorded.

Philosophies of Yoga Then and Now- winter schedule                                                                  

  • Exploring through the lens of yoga philosophies through the various ages of mankind’s conscious development and how yoga has gained a needed popularity for where we have arrived in our current society. Understanding how our involution through the practice of yoga will assist in the continued evolution of humankind.

The Inward Journey: Fascial Yin -  Fall offering TBA

  • This insightful training will bring a clear understanding to the approach, the effects and the benefits of yin yoga. Taking a deep dive in understanding fascia, embodiment, trauma, we will explore how a yin approach can be part of the solution to a much needed recovery period in our modern day stress paradigm.

Sensory Awareness & Yoga: The Missing Link for Trauma - Fall

  • Trauma is not an event, but a lasting response of the nervous system when we face an experience that overwhelms us. As a yoga practitioner, instructor, clinician, this course will offer you a foundational understanding of how the trauma response shapes us and our life experience. Please note: this course is a prerequisite to the elective course of Trauma-Informed Yoga:Beyond Calm to Resilience with Dr Jackie Ang

The electives list will continue to be developed to offer over above the required hours as a means of customizing courses to support your areas of interest in learning. These courses can be used as part of 300hr program or as separate CEC accumulation.

Ayurveda and Yoga - Matthew Remski - pre-recorded

  • In this pre recorded 52 session course, Matthew Remski offers a lens into this ancient practice to help you become aware of your internal experience. Its holistic practices of mindful, sensual awareness offer resilience against the inevitable changes of season, place, work, and identity.

Trauma-Informed Yoga:Beyond Calm to Resilience with Dr Jackie Ang - Winter

Advanced Asana: How, When and Why
Restorative Yoga with Jackie Gaulton- winter
  • Relevant yoga philosophy, technical physiological, energetic and practical considerations, and specific applications as a means of a down-regulation of the nervous system will be discussed. Consideration of the scientific findings in relation to the philosophy and psychology of yoga, and how we as teachers can incorporate this learning into our teaching will be highlighted.

Pain Care Aware Yoga Foundation Course - pre-recorded- Neil Pearson PT, MSc, BA-BPHE, C-IAYT, ERYT500, YACEP

  • Gain confidence and knowledge in effective pain care! Learn to guide students/clients with proven, science informed pain care skills, rooted in traditional yoga teachings. In this 30-hour online professional development program, you will dive deep into yoga teachings and pain science, explore pain as a human condition and learn how to foster fearlessness, hope and resilience in yourself and your students when there is pain.

Foundations of Yoga Nidra with Natalie Workman - TBD
  • The Foundations Of Yoga Nidra module is a journey through the foundational elements of a yoga nidra practice, encompassing syllabus-focused discussions, self-reflection, philosophy, gentle movement, restorative breath work, meditation, and Yoga Nidra practices.
Embodied Grief/ The Last Breath: Yoga Practice and Dying with Anne Pitman - Spring TBD
  • Grief is not a feeling, but a skill, says Stephen Jenkinson. If so, how do we, as yoga practitioners, cultivate that skill

for ourselves and in service to those who suffer, within a culture that demands we get over it and move on?
